Please see the following sprint activities to be done.
Goalkeepers need to be the fastest player over the shorter distances.
Youngest players should do just the first sprint drill. ( 2009 – 2007 )
Players born 2006 – 2004 should do the first two sprint drills
Players born 2003 and older should do all three. ( With sufficient rest in between )
Times should be recorded on the Goalkeeping workout sheet, which you downloaded from the Week 2 title page.
SPRINT 1 – 5, 10, 15’s.
- Run 5 yards, and back
- Run 10 yards and back
- Run 15 yards and back
SPRINT 2 – 6, 12, 18, D, Half way.
Using the lines on a full size soccer field.
- Sprint to 6yd box & back
- Sprint to penalty spot & back
- Sprint to 18yd box & back
- Sprint to edge of the “D” & back
- Sprint to the half way line and back
SPRINT 3 – Circle of truth.
Used to increase stamina of speed. This run should be done at full speed all the way.
